Tanya Seevaratnam, Partner
Tanya specialises in general commercial litigation and resolving business disputes, and joined us in 2011.
She has a 100% success rate at trial. For instance, she acted for a minority shareholder in a dispute about the sale of shares, both in the first instance and at the Court of Appeal. The client recovered 90% of the indemnity costs awarded, and was “very happy” with her service.
Tanya honed her civil litigation and advocacy skills at a firm based opposite the Royal Courts of Justice, so she was often in Court every day – and still is. After completing her Law Society Final Exams, she took a gap year travelling around the world before taking a job at a niche litigation and law firm.
She gained her law degree at the University of Manchester, and has a Diploma in Advanced Litigation from Nottingham Law School. She is involved with the Association of Business Recovery Professionals.
Her message to clients is: “With Summit, you get the same service as a big City firm but at lower cost. The amount of preparation we do and the level of expertise we have contributes to our high success rate.”
Tanya volunteers with a charity called Contact The Elderly. As a result, she has appeared on TV twice, including an episode when she had tea with Jonathan Ross.
