Dispute Resolution / Commercial Litigation Partner

Brief

We are looking to recruit a commercial litigator partner, to help further develop our very successful and friendly commercial litigation team in central London.

Background

Our team advises high net worth individuals and corporates embroiled in contractual disputes.

The commercial litigation team has expanded over the last 18 months and accordingly we are looking for a bright and keen individual to help develop the department during our next exciting phase of growth.

Given the current Covid-19 crisis this area of practice has been earmarked for significant expansion in the next 12 months which is reflected in our marketing budget. In association with Thomas More Chambers Summit Law is one of the founding firms of PanLaw.org, which has been created to provide specialist advice on Covid-19 related legal matters. This is not a merger but is merely a marketing initiative with the well-known barrister’s chambers, founded by the former Attorney-General, Geoffrey Cox QC.

Operating near Holborn, close to the Roll Buildings and Inns of Court, Summit Law is conveniently placed to offer a fast and efficient service to a home grown and international client base. We have connections in the middle and far east, Spain, and South America which we are keen to develop.

We are also members of ILAS, the International Lawyers and Accountancy Solutions network.

Recently we have set up an offshore international desk with a former BVI lawyer, James Dixon.

The Candidate Required

The successful candidate will ideally have gained experience in an established Central London or regional practice. Candidates must be technically excellent but equally important, both commercially astute and enthusiastic about business development. They should have a following in excess of £200,000.

We are very much looking for team players with a strong client focussed approach. As well as being able to use document management and time recording systems the successful candidate will also have a good academic background and excellent communication and organisational skills. Whilst we also rate common sense highly, we need a lawyer who is hands-on and interested in being involved in the management of the litigation department.

The successful partner candidate will be expected to have a broad commercial litigation experience, with an emphasis on arbitration, breach of contract claims and shareholder disputes. Some probate litigation experience would also be useful though is not essential.
